It said that a wife should buy yarn and fabric and sew lots of awesome stuff! I knew it - and I already have a ton of yarn!
My husband wasn't so sure my understanding was correct....and even if I insisted in taking only small snippets here and there of the passage, that the 'finding' refers specifically to FREE yarn and fabric you happen to find.
A good wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels.
She seeks wool and flax, and works with willing hands.
Her children rise up and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her.
Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates.
Proverbs 31:10, 13, 28, 31
Yup! My husband calls me his "Proverbs 31" wife for so many, many different reasons! lol
ReplyDeleteI think I need to go shopping... my stash is looking kinda puny...
ReplyDelete*lol*
Good to know I'm doing something right.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this! I missed mass this weekend (and I'm feeling guilty about it...) but I guess I don't have to feel guilty about my stash. Or I won't when and if I become a wife....
ReplyDeleteHA! We chose this for the 1st Reading at our wedding this past April--I too perked up as son as they started reading it yesterday morning!!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful passage. Good to know the Lord is supportive of us :) especially when we use it for others.
ReplyDeletePerfect. It's always nice to have validation!
ReplyDeleteI love this post and this is one of my favorite passages. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYou know I sat there and listened to that sermon twice and didn't pick up on this aspect! I'm liking your perspective on this reading!!
ReplyDeletei think i might have some of that good wife stuff under my belt!!!
ReplyDeleteJust joined. LOVE your scrap section esp. that Needle Case. I'm not a quilter, but do love sewing with scraps. This week came across a source of free drapery/upholstery material not too far from us...so was looking for a few more ideas. Your work is beautifully done.
