Before the Advent Tea, I obviously didn't have enough to do. So I made a Buttercup Bag for myself. It's a wonderful free pattern that I had saved to my 'sew in the future' file.
I used Anna Maria Horner's Good Folks and lined it with linen. To give it a bit more structure, since I didn't use a decor weight fabric, I lightly interfaced my outer fabric. It was super fast - decided to make it at about noon and was done by 5:30, including making dinner and getting ready for a mom's night out in between! I've used it a bunch and love it.
I'm also moving along with my Aviary stars. Only messed up one more set (doh!). I have learned that I should pause my iPod book when making critical cuts. I hope to have the whole thing ready to bind for my long drive before Christmas. Would be great car work!

Adorable bag! I just bookmarked the tutorial... one of these days I'll get around to everything I want to make!
These are beautiful! I'm inspired and awed!
Cute bag, and lovely stars!
Gorgeous bag! I've had it in my "to sew" folder for so long I had forgotten about it lol! I love it in that fabric!
your buttercup bag is beautiful. i love the colors.
I love that buttercup bag pattern. I made one last spring and gave it away - i need to make more! Thanks for the reminder! I love yours.
LOVE that buttercup bag! And it looks great with that fabric. I've been meaning to make it one of these days too . . .
Did you make the big one or the small one?
Your bag and your stars look great!
What a great bag! I do the same thing...try to hand sew binding on long car trips. I think my husband is embarassed by it!
The stars are a great pattern! The buttercup bag is fun, too. I've made several in the larger size. -- michele
I love your bag and the stars are great. I have been meaning to ask you about binding in the car. Are there ways you use to make it easier? Sometimes I find it hard to do with the motion of the car.
the bag is super cute!!... i've had that pattern on my to-do list for a while!
