We all love going to IKEA - and luckily (or perhaps not) it is very close. I found some great inspiration there.....
This puff light fixture is FABULOUS and about 3 feet across. It makes cool shadows on the ceiling, too.
I actually brought these next two lamp shades home. But they were vetoed by everybody else in the house. So they ended up going back.
But wouldn't those be cool QAYG patterns!
As soon as Becket saw this mini apartment, he threw himself onto the bed and claimed he was going to live there. (And survive on their breakfasts and meatball lunch and dinners) He assigned me the tiny kid bed nearby.

we live HOURS from Ikea or we would be there all the time...my daughter loves the french toast sticks...I like those funky lamp shades!
i LOVE that first light fixture... so much, that i made a trip to that particular IKEA so i can hang it in my dining room. when i finish it.
and yes, you have to assemble each piece of it.
oh - i should add that i've had that light for a few months...sitting in the box.
Ahhhh, I love IKEA too! Unfortunately it's 3 1/2 hours away from where we live now, but maybe that's good for my wallet :-)
Our Ikea is about an hour from us. Far enough away to keep my money in my wallet, but it calls to me!
The lamp shades are cool! The first one would be awesome quilting detail.
Oh man, I'm so jealous that you're close to an IKEA. The closest one to me is 2-3 hours away in Canada! I usually end up going when we visit Jon's family in Philly (6 hours away!).
ikea is my favorite...we love to go and get the meatballs for lunch
Oh Ikea is sooooo dangerous! I want everything in there and I could definitely live on the meatballs! Heehee!
So funny, my post is about IKEA today too!! You must come and take a look, if you haven't already. That light fixture is really cool!
I saw that puff fixture in Edmonton a couple of weeks ago and fell in love but I know that I'll never have the right space for it. Good for you for turning it into inspiration!
While the hubster and I love Ikea, our kids HATE going there. Probably because we could spend hours just browsing through. We have never eaten there but after seeing all the comments I'm thinking we should try that next time we go back.
The closest one is just about an hour away in O Town.
