I loved making the strip-pieced, applique candy corn this summer and wanted to try something like it again. When I came across an awesome doll quilt by Amber from One Shabby Chick , I knew it would be perfect for the honey bun strips I have.
Her straight line quilting really made the design! I hardly ever do lines, so this was a great chance to practice that skill as well.
I used the same light weight, fusible interfacing as before. Once the circles were turned, I just ironed them in place and top stitched right inside the edge.
For the circles that are not whole, I just made them whole - quilted as they hung off the edge - then chopped off the extra after adding the binding.
I couldn't resist adding a gnome to this one as well. Thank you Amber for the awesome inspiration - this was a blast to make and will look wonderful at our advent tea!

The little gnome fits right in there! Love this little quilt...
Another great mini quilt. I've enjoyed seeing them progress and look forward to the next one.
It is so beautiful. I wish I could be at your tea. You should have a spot the gnome contest like they do on The Amazing Race.
super cute! i love seeing all of your mini's!
they look like ornaments! too cool! you're so neat to be doing this!
I love it! The circles are great, and I am such a huge fan of straight line quilting. How far apart are you lines? They look really good.
I truly believe that this fabric line is the prettiest Christmas fabric line ever created ever and that there is nothing that it can't do....
However, I am also really inspired by what you do with it, too!!
This one is my favorite so far, I love it!
I love the circles! ... but you probably already guessed I would say that :)
The quilting looks great and really compliments the circles!

These are so cute... I can't wait for the next one, but, I think your hubby may be right... I hope it does not end up in a brawl with ladies rolling on the ground fighting over these (giggle) the pictures that come into my head, oh my!
