Two months ago I tossed this project to the side after I had to pick out and re-do one of the blocks.
I finally decided to pull it back out and try some straight line quilting. But I didn't like it - it looked too empty with these large blocks.
So I decided to stipple the rest of the quilt. I even did a little echo on the bird in the top right. I love it now! I'll be going blueberry picking with my Gram in Michigan for a couple of days, so I should have the binding done when I get back.
I have also been spending a crazy amount of time ripping up very nice and well made PJs. If you actually want PJs (not just the fabric) I think Munki Munki would be totally worth the price. As it is, I was planning on swapping some of these cute Heather Ross Christmas tree hunters...but I don't know if I can give them up after spending so much time with them!
We've done some hiking with our new water bottle holders - but didn't need them too much. We had to pull beach towels from the van to keep warm. In the middle. of. July.

I love those birdies. :) And I'll help you swap some of the munki goodness if you would like ;)
Beautiful quilt!! I am so sorry that it was cool for your hike!
The quilt is beautiful, I love it.
I LOVE that quilt!!! You did an awesome job.
Fantastic quilting Amanda!
Wow - this is so pretty'! I love the shadowing!
Beautiful quilt and great job on echoing the birdie.
How could you forget that cute quilt? I love it!
Really a beautiful color and great job!
Angela,
I looked through a few pages of your blog. Cute as well as beautiful quilts. Do you machine quilt them? Wow! Nice job. I send mine out to a longarm person. Of course, most of mine are queen size. Also, I have fibromyalgia (I call it an advanced stage - it's severe) and lots of days I can't even sew. Anyhow, back to happy things - even though we are grandparents, my husband loves the Harry Potter books, think I may look into piecing some blocks and making him a quilt. The only problem is that he is disabled, too and he loves to see what I am doing. I'd love for it to be a surprise. Better to have it than to be a surprise.
Thank you for sharing the wonderful quilting with us.
My hats off to you with THREE boys - I raised one that was a total handful. Of course, a good friend says her boy was a dream compared to her identical twins who are the same age as my daughter - lol.
Keep posting!
I love your mini quilt. Pink is my favourite colour. I have not seen that Heather Ross fabric before. It is so cute. Keep it!
