I have these sharp needles.
I thought for sure I would love them, but they are driving me up a wall! I don't know what the deal is. Perhaps some strange incompatibility with my machine. Every time I try them, I get skipped stitches. I have a brother Innovis NX-450Q that I love and kindly de-fuzz bunny after each completed quilt. So it is not a machine issue.
I'm sure somebody out there uses these guys successfully, so if you want them, leave a comment and I'll pick a winner on Thursday.
If you hate them leave a comment, also. But I won't make you take them if I pick your name. I'm curious if it is just me, my machine brand, what?

I use the same brand needle that is made for quilting and love them, so it isn't the brand. For general piecing and stitching, I now use only the 11/75 Universal needles. I am happily back to nice, even stitches.
I have tried everything to fix the problem, and gone through a whole package over time, but it seems they are the culprit. I can't return them, since I already de-packaged the little buggers. I made them pose with another of my pink and orange stars.

I have some of these, but I'm not sure if I have used them yet to know if there is a problem! Next time I switch needles, I will try them ;) But otherwise, I generally use that brand (especially when they're on sale @ Joanns).
needles. I had trouble with skipped stitches a few weeks ago and was freaking out trying to figure out what was wrong with the machine. Turned out the needle was just in backwards. Have you tried flipping it around?
oh man, it deleted the beginning of the comment. It was supposed to say "Sorry about the trouble with your needles."
Hmm... sorry about your needle problems. But I love your pink and orange star!
I've never had trouble with these in my machine. Your star is lovely though! :D
i always am a little confused by which needles to use for what...sorry that yours are giving you such trouble.
I use this brand but haven't tried this size. Would be keen to see if they were compatible with my machine.
I adore your wonky stars especially with the prints you are using!!
I love that cute bicycle fabric it looks so cute in your wonky square:) I have not used this size needle in my Elna so I am no help there!
I don't think I've used that size before, but use that brand. I know problem is usually cased by the operator (oops...) Hopefully you can get things going again!
Sorry to hear about your troubles. In the beginning I had similar problems and found that I didn't install them correctly. Now they work ok. I needed to push them more in. But I have a singer and like you said it could be that its not compatible with your machine. Good luck!
btw, love your star...
No help in the needle department, I haven't tried those. But I would be willing to try them in my machine. :)
As someone else suggested, your needle might be in backwards. Been there, done that!
I have had no problems using those needles in my machine, and would love them!
that's a bugger! i've never had to use anything but the needles that came with my mine, but i'm on my last one and wasn't sure what the buy after that. i guess i'll have to start looking!
I use that brand and size most of the time and haven't had problems (fingers are crossed) with them. I was told by some sewing machine dealer to use sharps and not universal needles. Guess everyone has their own opinion, and who knows what really the best!!
