Look away if you can....

Some the the amazing BeeBeautiful blocks made for me were sent last week.

But this is what I found in my mail box!  The glue just came unstuck, and there was a horrible red stamp on the front saying it arrived at the local post office open and empty.  My poor little bee blocks, laying in a gutter, I can hardly stand it.  At least she had photos of them on flickr before they met their fate, so I could try to recreate them.  Because they were so good!

Here's a happy picture after that terror....I finished sashing the quilt for my friend.  It's looking amazing!

I'm so peeved everytime I think about Stephanie's blocks having gone missing :( The post office can expect very well-taped-up parcels from now on!! hehe

That is soooooo sad! I was just gathering two bee blocks to mail today, so I will be very careful to tape that flap down good and tight!

Oh, Ang. I'm devestated for you! Going over to my sad corner and sob a little for you. This is so horrible.

I always tape my closures with shipping/packing tape. I'm so sorry.

The other picture does help, but, gulp.

Love the sashing with the beautiful bright colors! Oh how very sad that your blocks went missing before they arrived. I wonder if the ended up at the bottom of a bin or a truck. I think I would go to the USPS webpage and see if they have a lost mail form and post your pictures, maybe they are only temporarily lost.

So sad! I feel a pang of nervousness every time I drop blocks in the mailbox and am always tempted to insure them, even though the materials aren't worth all that much, just because of the time. Then I realize that 50 bucks wouldn't really make up for the time and heartache anyway, and I take the gamble. I think more tape is in order from now on, just to be extra safe.

Love that quilt top!

that just makes me sick to think about the lost block... I think we'll all be taping our packages more heavily after this nice little reminder

well darn it Angela! I'll be sure to super duper tape mine when I get them done and mailed. Seriously. You'll be able to tell it's my package without looking at the return address. :)

I can't believe that happened! How awful! I do like your quilt picture. I hope somehow the blocks are found.

Maybe they went on an adventure like the roaming gnome.... (If they were my blocks, I would have to think like that or I'd be beside myself.)

And your friend is lucky - Gorgeous!!

Sunshine and Shadow.
I have a feeling someone at the PO is on to our bee, and knew how beautiful the blocks were, and before anyone could stop them, I, well, I just think they went 'postal'!! I for one would start eye-ing the postal workers in your town, looking for a new quilt with your bee-beautiful fabrics!! That's what I'm gonna believe...
