Olympic Quilting

Opening ceremony tonight!

I LOVE the Olympics. (and I'm thinking about my quilty anglophile friends, all of whom must be super excited today)

I'm trying to decide if I should work on some of my hexagons, or set up a table in the family room and move my machine.

The boys' computers are also on a desk right next to my sewing space, and my cable package allows me to log onto the all-Olympics-all the time, real time web broadcasts. So I may watch and sew that way as well.

How are you going to do the Olympics and sew at the same time?

I have my hand project that I started while on vacation in the car all set to go during the opening ceremonies. I. Can't. Wait. Wednesday all day I thought was Thursday, so I was very disappointed the Olympics didn't start last night.

Hi! Love your blog! And the tutorials are great! I'm playing around with hexies now and that needle book is great! Must try that soon!

Two years ago for the Winter Olympics I was a temporary empty nester, so I moved my sewing machine into the family room, facing the TV. I ended up staying there! Some of the kids are back home now, but I'm not moving, they have to put up with machine noise as part of the bargain for living at home rent free! Looking forward to the Opening Ceremonies, too!

I'm moving my machine and current project to the big tv room! Since everyone else will be there and it makes it easier to sew and actually watch some of the action on the big tv. Love those gymnasts!

ipad is a very convenient way to keep up with the games. I was actually thinking that it may be a good time to start a new project.

I pretty much always sew in the living room but I will probably switch to something quieter so I don't miss any of the action! The rower from Niger had me in tears of joy the other day. I love the Olympics!

My only TV is in the studio so no rearranging necessary. My friend came up this weekend and we had the Olympics on while we sewed. When we would take a break for lunch or supper, we would turn the sound up and watch.
